TSOI, Hoi Wah
Hoi Wah joined our
department over 25 years ago. An expert in viral and bacterial genome
sequencing, he has played a pivotal role in the discovery and characterization
of many novel pathogens.
CHAN, Chris Chung-Sing (left) joined our department more than 20 years ago. He is highly
competent in biosafety level 3 works, especially those related to animal
models. He is a key member of the animal modelling team that has established
various models for coronaviruses, flaviviruses, and influenza viruses at the department.
POON, Vincent Kwok-Man, an 19-year veteran at our department, is an expert in designing
unique systems for animal experiments. He has played an important role in the
establishment and applications of the Syrian hamster model for COVID-19
LI, Kenneth Sze Ming
Kenneth has been working in the department
for over 20 years. He has worked extensively on hunting novel animal viruses
with zoonotic potential, including bat coronaviruses and rodent picornaviruses.
He is an expert in bioinformatics analysis in the study of genomics, and the evolutionary and phylogenetic relationships of novel emerging pathogens.
